The Higher Polytechnic School of the University of the Balearic Islands has organized an act of recognition to the more than 20 technological companies that support the program for the promotion of engineering, construction and mathematics, among which is Robot, S.A.
The objective of this program is to promote the interest of young people between 8 and 18 years old for technological studies, through activities such as workshops in educational centers, visits to technological companies, programming competitions or project development, among others.
The event, which was chaired by UIB’s Rector, Dr. Llorenç Huguet, the Vice Chancellor for Innovation and Institutional Relations, Dr. Jordi Llabrés, and the EPS Director, Dr. Loren Carrasco, appreciated the companies collaboration in the program, and thanks to which the EPS of the UIB has increased its number of students up to 10% in the last two years. Despite this, there is still work to be done as there are studies that do not fill their places, and there is a need to increase the presence of women in engineering.
Our company Robot, S.A. which was represented by the Product Engineer Vicenç Salas, considers a future investment to collaborate with this kind of programs that allow professionals from the technological sector to be obtained in our own community.
